Rosh Hashanah Blog Hop

As the Jewish New Year is
around the corner
on September 10 and 11 some of us
Jewish Stampin'Up! demos
have come together to make this blog hop for you
to get inspired for your diy New Year cards
 with Stampin'Up! Products.

I hope you have arrived here from
and I hope you got some inspiration from her wonderful ideas.

Here are two cards I made with two sets:
and Jars of Love (honey jar)

Why apple and honey? It is a tradition to eat a piece of apple
dipped in honey and wish each other a very happy and sweet
New Year.

For my card I  used the Tea Room Special Design Serie Papers.
One of the designs is this one with the bees. Perfect to combine
with the honey jar. Behind the honey jar you see onw of the
Colored Doilies (they come in a package with several colors).
For decoration I used a ribbon and adhesive sequins.

For stamping the apples I have used a variety
of colors. Some old and some new inkpads.
The sentiment Happy Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew
meaning Head of the Year, so New Year) is a sentiment
from an old and much loved  Jewish stamp set called
Mazel Tov.
For the 2nd card I used anothe piece of paper from the same
Tea Room set. The little bees are from the set A Little Wild.

After stamping the jars I colored them with these
wonderful stampin'blend markers and cutting them out.

Here a close up to see the sentiment with the little bees
and the beautiful background paper.

Now on to my next project:
Decorated candle glasses.
With the Tea Room Special Design Serie papers I covered the glass.
I used the same papers as on the cards. The fun  thing with these
jars is that inside the jar you see the other side of the paper
and this gives a beautiful extra dimention.
Underneath the candles I made these apple coasters.
I found some crochet patterns online, but mainly it is just
making a white circle with a red border.
There is one HERE.

I cut the oval shap with one of the Stiched Framelits Dies.
The bees are stamped on the oval shape and colored with
pencil before adding the apple with a piece of
foam adhesive strip. The Hebrew sentiment
is one from my stash and meaning a Good Year!

For the 2nd jar you see inside the little tea spoon
part of the paper. Fun, because sometime you use a spoon
to add honey to the apple. Around both glasses I added
some ribbon to keep the paper tight to the glass
and also for decoration.

Now for more ideas hop over to
and see what she has come up with.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Rosh Hashanah 2017/ Jewish New Year

As the Jewish New Year is around the corner
on September 21 and 22 some of us Jewish Stampin'Up!
demos have come together to make this blog hop for you
to get inspired for diy New Year cards. So get  inspired!

I hope you have arrived here from
and were surprised by her wonderful ideas.

So I have 3 cards for you today.
These cards are all totally different
and not the usual New Year cards.

For card #1 I used the dies of the Number of Years set
to make up the Jewish year. The paper in the background
is from the new coffee set and the apples are punched out
with the Tree Builder punch. The sentiment is from a
very old Stampin'Up! set.
The sentiment is cut out with the oval die from the
stiched shapes framelits set.

Card #2 is my favorite. When I saw this new
I've got Style stampset it made be think about an old
record I have called "You don't have to be Jewish".
A fun recored with Jewish cabaret pieces, hilarious.
This woman makes me think of these typical Jewish old ladies.

I colored the image with watercolor pencils.
The paper is from the Bundele of Love Designers
Series papers. The top sentiment is from my stash.
The flowers - gold embossed with a sticky pearl -
is from the beautiful Colorful Seasons set.

Card #3 has to do with my coffee addiction.
I am so happy with the new coffee set in the
main catalogue and now there is Merry Café
in the Seasonal catalogue as well.
The leaves of the apple are made with the Lemon
builder punch and the apple is the circle from
the Swirly Bird set.

I was thinking of coffee and honey cake
and that made me think of the stamp on the
A little Wild stempset: the beehive and the bees,
making the honey for my cake!

For more ideas
please hop over to
and see what she has come up with.

Wishing you all a year of
health and happiness
and may there be a little bit more Peace.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!
